Client: Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation
Location: Mumbai; Maharashtra
Digital Studio created a short welcome video and recorded foundation member interviews for the Yoga Vidya Pranic Healing Foundation's Arhatic Yoga Retreat in Mumbai. The film was commissioned to invite members to the programme and introduce its setting, theme and people.
This case study documents the 2018 project. The retreat took place from 2nd to 5th February 2018 at Sahara Star Hotel, Mumbai, with the theme Raise Your Consciousness.

The foundation's trustees wanted a welcome film that brought together Mumbai, the venue, meditation and interviews. The brief called for a personal introduction to the retreat through the voices of foundation members.
We interviewed five people from the foundation and created a short welcome video. Selected interviews and the welcome film are available below as examples of this work.
For organisations planning a similar film, our corporate interview video services offer a relevant starting point for presenting people and their messages on camera. You can also explore our video production and photography portfolio for examples across other sectors.
For the Arhatic Yoga Retreat project at Sahara Star, Mumbai, the film was structured around Mumbai's high-stress lifestyle, the relevance of meditation in everyday life, the retreat environment at the hotel, and interviews with key people associated with the event.
The ballroom was not part of the client's booking, while the conference room was being used for the meditation sessions. We therefore filmed the five interviews on the open veranda near the hotel's lounge area.
The outdoor location introduced an audio challenge, but the available daylight was adequate for filming without having to significantly increase the camera ISO. Background noise was reduced during post-production.
The meditation sessions themselves were completely off-limits for filming.
Instead of attempting to recreate or interrupt the sessions, we used the interviews with key people to explain the meditation aspect of the retreat and address the important points that could not be shown visually.
The final film was not structured simply as an event video. It began with the context of life in a high-stress city such as Mumbai, moved into the importance of meditation, and then introduced Sahara Star as the setting for the retreat.
The interviews were used to carry the explanation of the meditation programme, since the sessions themselves could not be filmed.
